ABOUT US
Dana's Beauty Supply was launched in 2021 by Korean and Black American interdisciplinary artist, Dana Davenport, as an experimental pop-up beauty supply store in Brooklyn, NY. Having grown up in Seoul, South Korea, Davenport is interested in Black and Korean relationships specifically within the beauty sphere, as more than 70% of beauty supply stores in the US are Korean-owned. In exploring the relationship between Black and Korean communities, the store provided free Korean-language classes taught by Eve Talley and was stocked with inventory curated by Paris Beauty Supplyz. We offered blowout sale prices, with proceeds being reinvested to support the Black community. Dana's Beauty Supply reimagines the beauty supply as a space for critical dialogue, solidarity, creativity, and community while servicing the beauty needs of the community.
